All U-Store representatives are experienced storage counselors and will be happy to help you select the correct space for your needs. If after renting and you decide to either increase or decrease sizes, or change units, we will transfer you free of charge.
You will need a government issued photograph identification with a signature on it, such as your driver's license, and a phone number where we can reach you if needed. You will also need to either bring a padlock for your unit or you can purchase a lock at our store. You will be required to sign a Rental Agreement which spells out many of the items discussed here. Our staff will take all the time necessary to review and explain the agreement with you.
Our office is open and staffed typically from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Some locations are open on Sunday as well. Customers have access to their units 365 days a year, 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. at most locations.
You are given a unique personal code. Entering this code into the front keypad opens the main gate. Once you are done in the unit, entering the code into the exit gate keypad opens the gate so you can exit the facility.
There are some simple strategies that can really help - like putting the things you'll want to get to easily in the front of the unit. It also helps to label boxes clearly and place them so the label shows and always leave a clear walkway in the center so you can get to all parts of your unit.
Common sense and state laws determine what may be stored. You alone control access to your storage space. Items you should never store include, but are not limited to, live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammables, paint and cleaners. Remember to always drain fuel from gasoline engines before storing. Throw away anything that could possibly cause a fire. Do not store food or any item that could attract rodents or pests. You are also not allowed to store yourself- your unit cannot be used as an apartment or place to stay.
Simply select the location most convenient for you, and choose the size unit you want. (Using the search and information tools on our website makes it easy.) Then reserve your space on-line or call the location directly.
We suggest you get insurance for peace of mind, just as you normally would for your house or business possessions. We have information available in our offices about inexpensive self-storage renters insurance that is offered by third party insurance companies. Also, check your homeowners or renters insurance policy. Many policies cover your goods while in storage-but not all.
Resident managers are folks who don't just work at U-Store - they actually live here. That makes our customers even more comfortable storing with us -- because to our resident managers our facilities aren't just great places to work - it's their home.
Our properties are enclosed by fences. Each tenant is given a unique Gate Access Code that is known only by the tenant and authorized users of that unit. If a tenant feels the Gate Access Code has been comprised, we will issue a new access code. Some of our locations offer individually alarmed units and all have surveillance cameras.
Yes. We offer a variety of boxes and moving supplies to meet all your packing needs. The quality of the cardboard boxes is excellent and they will last a long time. We have mirror boxes for pictures, etc. as well as wardrobe boxes equipped with a hanger bar for your clothing needs.
